The City of Natchez was recently the recipient of a grant from the Mississippi Development Authority, Community Services Division, through funding made available by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic a ‘virtual public hearing’ will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. The purpose of the public hearing is to provide citizens with information regarding progress on the activities undertaken through the CDBG Program and to receive citizen input concerning that progress. Funds were received to undertake citywide water improvements in the City of Natchez, including upgrading the antiquated controls on the water wells, adding a 5th service pump with controls at Cedar Lane Water Treatment Plant, adding a generator to Cedar Lane Water Treatment Plant, adding inflow and outflow meters to Cedar Lane Water Treatment Plant, adding a second high service pump at the Brenham Ave. ground storage tanks and adding water mains and new, larger water lines along Providence Road.

     All comments are welcome and must be received in writing to Mr. James Johnston, Department of Planning & Community Development, PO Box 1185, Natchez, MS 39120.
